Reminder: Golf tube arrows are not legal in Calontir. You may only use Siloflex arrows for combat archery. Also, SCA combat archery rules are also under review at the Society level.
Experiments: Currently we are experimenting with 2 inch thrusting tips on fiberglass spears. This is an experiment only and only certain individuals have been sanctioned by the KEM to participate/use these weapons. This is also being reviewed/tested at the Society level.

The Calontir Marshal's warrant list has been updated. Anyone who is not on the list or has any issue should contact me ASAP.
A very short Quarter Court was held in the Barony of Mag Mor at Cattle Raids. In attendance were Sir Duncan Logan of Bruce, Sir Theo and myself. Two injuries were discussed, one that occurred at Lillies and one that occurred in Oakheart at a local fighter practice. No sanctions or actions were taken. Minutes will be posted soon.

Warranted Marshal list for marshal's of the field and groups has been updated. If your name is not on that list please contact me and let me know. Some groups and individuals need to contact me ASAP regarding their missing reports and status.
The rules for combat footwear in Calontir are being reviewed and possibly revised. This is being done to allow more period footwear that does not really meet the current specs to be worn when part of an entire kit.
I would like to take this time to thank all of the individuals who stepped forward and applied for the two open Deputy Earl Marshal positions. After many interviews and much deliberation I have finally arrived at a decision:
The new Western Region Deputy Earl Marshal is Sir Gawain ap Tristram.
The new Southern Region Deputy Earl Marshal is Lord Troy Hafallen.
Again I would like to commend all those who took the time to apply.

Important rules change announcement: Calontir will be dropping the 3 step running charge limit that is currently in place. With this in mind, remember that you are still responsible for the safety of yourself and your opponents. This is not a license to dangerously hurl yourself upon others! The Earl Marshal arrived at this decision after much correspondence, research, and consultation with his deputies, the other Kingdom Earl Marshals and the Society Marshal. It is the marshallate's feeling that this change will bring us more in line with our neighbors and the SCA at large. The upcoming Lilies War will be the first test bed of this new rule in a large scale fashion.

The new list of current Deputy Kingdom Earl Marshals is up. The Deputies are back in a regional capacity. If anyone needs help or has any questions, they can contact the Deputy that is assigned to their area.(a complete regional list is found on the Marshallate roster page).
All Quarterly marshal reports should still be sent directly to the Kingdom Earl Marshal.
Quarterly Status Reports should still go to the Deputy Earl Marshal in charge of cards.
All these Deputies are specifically designated by the Kingdom Earl Marshal to run Minor Authorizations and also to authorize Marshals in Training. They can assign a warranted marshal to help out and fill in with these duties as needed.
